Milan Isola: KD House is a meeting place for bikers, friends and colleagues who are drawn to the 1950’s American diner atmosphere. Where everything is informal and lively, where the flavours put you in mind of New Jersey and its cuisine. The place is affiliated to the adjoining KD Store, a concept store dedicated to contemporary riders.
It’s a pint-sized pub but it was one of our first steps into the world of renovations. Steel with its timeless quality is unchallenged king of this place – and of the work we did here.
The different kinds of lighting suit the different functions of the space: diffuse light if all on, soft effect for more lounge moments, and playful light on the bottles with RGB LEDs to give the colour component to the product display.
And lastly, tailor-made light: somewhere between the product and the lighting design, light and steel merge together, giving life to a hanging lamp in which we find both vintage American-dream reflections and more artistic notes inspired by the great Ingo Maurer.
