Milan law court is in the ‘special project’ category for two reasons: firstly, because it is still one of the most important projects Lighting and has ever undertaken.

Another thing that makes it special is its prominence – we might say its fame. The most prestigious room is also known from television and cinema, as it often features in scenes, recordings and footage.

Technically speaking it is an example of almost infinitesimal precision and analysis of the light, down to the individual lux. It was not easy as the height is about 8 m, so to illuminate it uniformly was a real challenge. We succeeded, but it took tenacity, determination and method.

Moreover, the existing wall lights were a problem, an obstacle if you will: they could not be replaced or removed and they were so bright they were dazzling. What could we do? Replace the electrical parts only, so as to create harmony with the context.

One thing that stands out in this context is the mosaic behind the jury, a dominating feature of the room.

We used extremely high quality products from world renowned companies such as Erco and Zumtobel, products that have rarely been used for public works in Italy. This is Lighting and’s exception.
